What is WiE?

Women in e-Discovery (WiE) is a pioneering organization that primarily provides educational opportunities regarding technology in the legal industry to its members. The organization offers networking and leadership avenues, promotes personal and professional growth of women, and donates mentoring and charitable contributions to its communities. WiE incorporates a broad network of women volunteers who uplift and support each other and work together to recognize and honor each others achievements as women. WiE is comprised of professionals within the legal industry including attorneys, litigation support professionals, paralegals, legal IT staff, court reporters, consultants, recruiters and vendors.

Since its inception in 2007, Women in eDiscovery has grown globally to over 5,000 members and more than 30 chapters.  The Executive Board has appointed a National Board and Regional Directors that work in conjunction with each member elected Chapter Board. Each chapter operates independently but abides by the bylaws of the national organization. The chapters hold monthly meetings over lunch where panels or guest speakers conduct presentations regarding electronic discovery or professional development. Generally a law firm will furnish the venue and a vendor will sponsor the food. This enables members to attend at no cost. Special events are held at each chapter’s discretion. The organization takes their non-solicitation policy very seriously, therefore solicitation of any kind is forbidden at all of the WiE events.
